14th edition of annual one-day event PS20 organized by Bombay Master Printers Association (BMPA) was accomplished on 23rd Jan at National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai.

Team BMPA is doing wonderful job of making this event a magnificent one with exceptional speakers every year. One wonders if this is a Pure Print event or Leadership Summit. Renowned personalities from wide range of professional, creative and spiritual domains engage with the audience, keep it interesting, make it lively and leave audience a bit more wiser at the end of the day.

Keynote by Mr D. Shivakumar enlightened the audience about the uniqueness of Indian economy and integration of MSME and large organizations. He explained how large organizations who have the resource, when integrated with the innovative ideas of agile MSME’s leads to spectacular success.

HG Gaur Gopal Das, an electrical engineer, impressed by pragmatic approach of Lord Krishna turned Monk and Life Coach. He beautifully explained how to approach “Challenges between Life & Death” comparing it with “turbulence between take-off and landing” of an aeroplane. His unique presentation style of mingling with audience, walking up and down the aisles for entire duration of his talk was innovation of the day.

Ad-Man Josy Paul of BBDO explained the power of Print media as Trigger to start a revolution in advertising world. He shared some exciting examples of Print Ads triggering revolution. Mr. Vivek Krishnani, MD, Sony Pictures shared challenges the cinema and television industry is confronting the online media platforms and need for technology and innovation to stay relevant. K Shankar stressed on internal training programs for the organizations, metrics to measure performance, and plan to create Leaders for future within the organization.

Vishy of ITC shared their challenges and long-term successful projects that kept them at top in past 30 years. Vivek Bhargava enlightened the importance of embracing digital (not digital printing) but innovation in IT and need to be self-driven to survive and grow. Kaushal & Sampath gave a crisp talk on managing credit and bad debts with AI using data.

And yes, there was a session on Print as well. A Panel discussion moderated by Iqbal Kherodawala. Panellists from Digital, transactional, packaging and Large format print houses – Naresh Kumar of MMDI, Akshay Kanoria of TCPL, Pragnyat Lalwani of Seshasai Business Forms and Manish Sharma of Printo shared their awesome journey of success and challenges.

Concluding session MERGE – a Fusion of Western & Indian Music collaborated by Dhanashree Pandit Rai and Merlyn Dsouza followed by elaborate cocktail dinner.
