Twelfth Print Summit by Bombay Master Printer’s Association (BMPA) at Nehru Centre, Mumbai, India on January 17, 2018 was fabulous as always. This knowledge enhancing one day event has holistic approach with “Achievers in Life” share their “Journey of their Life”.

The event started with Keynote address by Ms Indu Sahani, Founder of Indian School of Management and Entrepreneurship (ISME), Mumbai who spent 25 years teaching at HR College where she was Principal. At ISME she has set new direction. Students here are taught coding skills, appropriate use of technology – Robot giving tour of campus to visitors and recording classroom sessions for students who

miss them. As part of their course, slum dwellers adopt students who have to spend some time in slums. Ms Shahani says the focus is to sensitize students and mould them to be Humane. A great start to PS18 for sure.
Deepak Ramola, at 25 years is life coach arranging training sessions to corporates from age 17. He was intrigued with home management skills of her mother who could never go to school. Deepak collects life lessons from people all over the world and turns them into interactive activities. He conducts workshops for corporates, students in schools and seminars. Deepak documents each life lesson whenever he meets and talks to people around the world. His teachings come from these life lessons. He has travelled widely across globe sharing his Life Lessons. He taught for 18 months in a school in Afganistan till it was bombed by Taliban, went to Syria and many places and spoke at United Nations. Thomas Glaser, Head of Technology for UV-sheet fed inks at Siegwerk, Switzerland gave two short and crisp presentations on limitations and possibilities of printing with UV inks, its impact on food packaging and migration from conventional offset to UV printing. This was followed by two presentations by lead sponsors Canon and Komori. Tony Messey of InnerWorkings Inc., in his presentation left open ended question to audience about the role of Print Aggregators.
Amit Shah, runner of 18 Mumbai Marathons, and CEO of Spectrum Scan, diversified from Prepress service provider to Large Format and Screen Printing with innovations in signage continuously in past two decades and mastering the art of Thermoforming held the audience spell bound with his presentation. He enlightened about the “Out of the Box thinking” leading to Growth, Development and diversification of his company Spectrum Scan unaffected during the great recession in past one decade.

Paul Bradley of EPS Color, UK
Paul Bradley from ESP Color, UK could not agree more with Amit Shah. He emphasized on “Change in Mindset” in routine commercial print operations. His company is today known for efficiency and quality. His detailed presentation to achieve optimum levels of production by each device and equipment as per manufacturer’s specs was backed by facts and figures. Paul’s clarity in sharing the processes,
automation, JDF workflows that enhanced efficiency levels was proof positive that in this tough competitive environment increasing efficiency, reducing wastage and implementing best working practices does ensure profitability and growth in business.
