Version 5 of our prestigious product Imp is here now packed with more automation and exciting features. We eagerly look forward to meeting customers with this new version. We believe that this is a landmark release with respect to the packaging segment, with multiple new innovative features have been added in this area. While some of these new features are based on market feedback, others were created to go beyond market expectation.

Some of the major features are listed below

PURE NESTING

Because of shorter run lengths, ganging different packaging carton jobs on the same layout is now becoming a necessity. While Imp was already capable of ganging jobs, both rectangular and non-rectangular, we felt there was a need for a fine tuned nesting algorithm specific geared for ganging cartons. We now call this the Pure nesting algorithm.

IMPORTING EXISTING DESIGN

Imp can now import die layouts created by another application, typically a CAD application.

REEL SHEETING

Some printers find it better to store reels of paper and then sheet them when required to be able to produce sheets for their sheet-fed printing machines. The advantage of sourcing print sheets from reels instead of mill sheets is that, \one of the dimensions can be optimized to the maximum. Imp is now capable of optimizing for such scenarios to produce cost effective layout plans.
