ADDITION OF CAD EDITOR TO STYLKIT PRESENTS PROMISING OPPORTUNITIES

One of the major issues faced by StylKit users was when they had to customize a standard design imported from the template library. Typical examples of these includes cases when the user needed to add a bottle support structure to a standard crash lock carton for holding the liquor bottles intact, or when the user needed to have a nib lock arrangement added to a standard tray for reinforcement of the walls of the tray.

With StylKit users can edit or create new designs from scratch. A Packaging specific CAD environment is now bundled along with the StylKit template library. The StylKit Editor is a palette of drafting tools that facilitates easy creation and editing of structural designs.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF IMP VERSION 5

Version 5 of our prestigious product Imp is here now packed with more automation and exciting features. We eagerly look forward to meeting customers with this new version. We believe that this is a landmark release with respect to the packaging segment, with multiple new innovative features have been added in this area. While some of these new features are based on market feedback, others were created to go beyond market expectation.

Some of the major features are listed below

PURE NESTING

Because of shorter run lengths, ganging different packaging carton jobs on the same layout is now becoming a necessity. While Imp was already capable of ganging jobs, both rectangular and non-rectangular, we felt there was a need for a fine tuned nesting algorithm specific geared for ganging cartons. We now call this the Pure nesting algorithm.

IMPORTING EXISTING DESIGN

Imp can now import die layouts created by another application, typically a CAD application.

REEL SHEETING

Some printers find it better to store reels of paper and then sheet them when required to be able to produce sheets for their sheet-fed printing machines. The advantage of sourcing print sheets from reels instead of mill sheets is that, \one of the dimensions can be optimized to the maximum. Imp is now capable of optimizing for such scenarios to produce cost effective layout plans.

Metamation Graphic Solutions made its debut in China this May. In partnership with BrainNew®, Metamation demonstrated its state-of-the-art layout planning & creation software for packaging and label printing. BrainNew, leader in post-rip workflow, is the reseller for Metamation Graphic Softwares in China and Taiwan. BrainNew’s Director, Mr. Litseh Lu, after analyzing our solutions, was impressed with what we had to offer.

After ensuring that this is a unique product in the packaging segment, efforts were made by the BrainNew team to translate our products. Mr. Litseh Lu is keen on offering our solutions to the printers in China and Taiwan along with his flagship post-rip imposition workflow.
